Lake District, Helm Crag to Calf Crag from Grasmere.

A wet and windy weekend in the lakes resulted in an aborted camp at Baysbrown Farm due to a storm during the night (snapped tent pole) so only managed to fit this one walk in and it rained the whole day.

I was going to head for Easedale Tarn but due to the worsening weather decided to head down the valley back to Grasmere.

5hrs.

An almost deserted campsite.
Free parking in the layby just outside Grasmere.

North Wales, Lliwedd Copper Mine from Bethania.

A visit to the ruined Copper Mine below Lliwedd Bach on Snowdon Today. I spotted this mine while on the Snowdon Horseshoe and promised to pay a visit one day. Today was ideal as the mist was down and all the high tops were covered.

6hrs

Leaving the car park at Bethania and heading up The Watkin Path.
About a mile and a half up the Watkin path a bridge can be seen down to the right which we crossed that lead up to the mine.
