Peak District, Bleaklow, Grinah and Barrow Stones from King's Tree, Upper Derwent Valley.

A tour of the stones today at the very top of the Derwent Valley, nice and remote and very quiet. Nice to get out again after the very wet weather during January and February.

6hrs.

King's Tree at the top of the Derwent Valley only accessible by car during the week, weekends it's bus only.
Slippery Stones about a mile from King's Tree.
View up the valley.
And back down the valley.
Swains Greave at the very top of the Derwent Valley and home to many a mountain hare.
One of the man made dams and seeded peat on Bleaklow.
At Bleaklow Stones looking across to Grinah Stones.
Preservation work in progress at Barrow Stones.
Barrow Stones, my IT band trouble started here (oh what joy) and I had to find a way to hobble back to the car without bending my right knee, doable just, with the right technique.
Down at Westend Plantation near the road running adjacent to the Dams not far from the car.
