Peak District, Kinder Plateau

Back up on Kinder Scout this weekend for a trip across the plateau from The Downfall to Grindsbrook....hopefully. It has been very dry lately so a safe crossing should be on the cards.

Having taken the same route as last week from the Car park above the Snake Inn we headed for Kinder Downfall.

Peak District, Kinder Scout

 6 1/2 hours

A glorious day up on Kinder Scout from just above the Snake Inn.

Park just above the Snake Inn (free), the path is just across the road.

Yorkshire Dales, Settle to Malham

 7 Hours

An extended Settle Loop walk to Malham and the Cove and back to Settle on a miserably wet March Sunday. Fortunately the weather improved during the walk.

 Just out of Settle with light snow falling, lovely.

Lake district....... Pelter Bridge, Rydal Mount, Grasmere, Loughrigg Fell.

The weather was a little inclement for a high level route in other words it was raining...a lot. So a low level route it had to be, parked up at Pelter Bridge car park (P&D) at Rydal just outside Ambleside and headed up towards Rydal mount.

lake District, Fairfield Horseshoe

 5 1/2 hours

Started this one from Pelter bridge car park at Rydal Water (free) and headed off up Nab Scar for a clockwise circuit. There is now a pay and display machine at this car park.

Coastal Walk, Robin Hoods Bay To Whitby.

4 Hours to Whitby and a few hours wandering around the town.

One of the paths leading down to Robin Hoods Bay. It was a scorching hot day and I'm not sure why but not many photo's were taken, ah well.

North Wales, Snowdon.

A mixture of photo's from two trips up Snowdon. The first ascent from Pen-y-Pass via the Pyg track returning down the Miners Track. The second two days later and much more rewarding was via the Watkin Path, only seeing 4 other people and a group of wild campers on the whole route until the inevitable crowds at the summit.

I was based at Llyn Gwynant Campsite at the foot of Snowdon itself with the added luxury of allowing camp fires of an evening.
