From the tent it was only a short walk up Gordale Scar to the waterfall. The best way up is straight up the middle bit.
Looking back down. It was wet but quite safe.
At the top of the waterfall with the mist starting to clear.
Not much if anything remains of the Roman camp that used to be up here. From here I took a right turn up the hill towards Flock Rake and had a wander until I came to Malham Tarn.
The road through and round Malham Tarn nature reserve should take you to Watlowes Valley which leads yoy to the top of Malham Cove.
Looking down Watlowes Valley.
Stone walls on very steep ground.
View across the Limestone Pavement above Malham Cove, care needed here especially when damp.
Looking over the top of the cove at the path that heads into Malham.
Climbers on the Cove wall. This guy actually fell off while a crowd of us were stood watching which resulted in a few sharp intakes of breath but he was quite safely roped up and so unharmed except for perhaps his pride.
More climbers. From here it was the path into Malham and then back to the campsite at Gordale for some tea and rest after a long day.
