North Wales, Y Foel Goch and The Glyders from Capel Curig.

Been long fancying this long slow climb up onto the Glyders from Capel Curig. It's a nice quiet route until you meet the crowds on Glyder Fach & Fawr.

7 hrs.

Tryfan from Glyder Fach.
Parking behind Joe Brown's in Capel Curig.
Moel Siabod in the cloud.
Looking back to Cefn y Capel.
Looking over to Nant Gwynant before the climb up to Y Foel Goch.
Pen Llithrig Y Wrach on the left and Creigiau Gleision on the right in the distance.
Approaching Y Foel Goch.
Looking back at the route up from Y Foel Goch.
Glyder Fach from Llyn Caseg Fraith.
Looking back to Y Foel Goch from the slopes of Glyder Fach.
Crowds at the Cantilever Stone on Glyder Fach.
First view of Llyn Cwmffynnon where I will make my descent to and then down to Pen-y-Pass.
Another view, you can just make out the car park to the right.
At Glyder Fawr I turned left and made my way down towards Llyn Cwmffynnon.
Red paint dots mark the way, there were some green ones too.
Llyn Cwmffynnon with Moel Siabod in the distance.
A blurred Pen-y-Pass.
View down the pass towards Llanberis, Crib Goch on the left.
It was just a matter of walking the 4 miles on the A4086 back to Capel Curig (not recommended) as the bus wasn't due for another hour at least. Hindsight says it would have been better to hang around for the bus.

  1. You get a lovely view from Gallt yr Ogof over the Glyders and Tryfan. Good walking!
