6 hours.
A trip over Ilkey Moor and over to Round Hill on the edge of the Dales, back though Ilkley and up to Ilkley Crags finishing with some light refreshment in the Cow and Calf pub.
A view of Ilkley Moor in not the best weather.
After a while we came across some aircraft wreckage of a Halifax Bomber that came down on January 31st, 1944, off course on a night training exercise.
The memorial.
And what little is left of the wreckage.
A few more miles and then a stop for some snap. Even in a relatively remote place one is never far away from litter, such a shame :).
We then descended in to Addingham through what seemed like 300 fields full of cows and carried on up to Beamsley Beacon and Round Hill where some good views of the Southern Dales can be had..
From there we headed off down through Ilkley which seems to close on a Sunday and up to Ilkley Crags.
Looking down to Ilkley and Round hill is in the distance to the right.
The Calf from the Cow I think.
Just a short walk back to the car park, free and then off to the the Cow and Calf Pub for some light refreshment which can be seen further up the road, recommended after a good long stroll.
Jubbly.
