6 1/2 hours.
From Horton in Ribblesdale a stroll up Pen-y-Ghent then over to Plover Hill away from the crowds and down to Foxup in Littondale before heading back to Horton in Ribblesdale skirting Fountains Fell and the shoulder of Pen-y-Ghent.
Completed without a drop of rain.
Pen-y-Ghent from just outside Horton in Ribblesdale on the busy path.
Near the top.
Pen-y-Ghent summit, we headed off towards Plover Hill parallel to the wall but on the other side of it.
That way....
After coming down from Plover Hill we turned right at the Bridleway and headed for Foxup.
Down there.
Just through Foxup and came across a dead sheep, no idea how it died.
Some nice views of Littondale.
Nice eh?
Time to say farewell to Littondale and head back on the track that skirts Fountains Fell.
Pen-y-Ghent in the distance.
The remains of either a Lime Kiln or Coke Oven on fountains Fell, not sure which.
At one time there was a colliery up there too.
Pen-y-Ghent getting nearer.
After a little road plodding we came across the track taking you up the shoulder of Pen-y-Ghent.
A left turn here to take us back down to Horton in Ribblesdale.
Down we go...
Horton in Ribblesdale behind the trees with Ingleborough in the backgound.
Refreshments were consumed at the Crown Inn in Horton in Ribblesdale and then off home.....Jubbly.
