North Wales, Arenig Fawr.

Arenig Fawr today from a minor road turning left off the A4212 after passing Llyn Celyn from Bala.

5 hrs

There are a few spaces to park on this minor road. There is an area of waste ground about a mile further back along the road also.
About a mile up the track Llyn Arenig Fawr comes into view. the route up is on the ridge to the left.

Pass the bothy and over the style where the path rises up the ridge ahead.
From here on there are no styles over fences.
Looking East passed Bala and towards The Berwin range.
Over another fence and up into the mist.
Summit cairn and memorial on Arenig Fawr.
More info here on the B17 crew that perished here.
On the way back down retracing my steps with a few small deviations, looking down on Llyn Arenig Fawr from Y Castell.
The track leading back to the road and car with Arenig Fach ahead.
