Peak District, Fairholmes, Margery Hill, Outer edge, Round hill.

From Fairholmes visitor center at Derwent a trip to the head of the watershed for the dams.

7 1/2 hrs
The start.
The overflowing Howden Dam not far from Fairholmes.

Ascending Hollins Clough.
Almost at the top of Hollins Clough with the weather not looking that good.
Very moody today.
At this point on the path just before Lost Lad I head off to the left on the path towards Foul Clough.
Down there...
Here we are...
Climbing out of Foul Clough looking down Abbey Brook.
Looking back to Back Tor and Lost Lad.
Abbey brook form higher up and look at those clouds.
Cairn at High Stones looking towards Margery Hill.
Margery Hill.
Looking back along the edge..
The cairn at the top of Cut Gate, we go ahead towards Outer Edge where it gets interesting and a little wilder.
After a bit of bog trotting I reached Outer edge, Bleaklow is in the Background.
From Outer Edge I continued on through the peat towards Round Hill where I would hopefully find the path that will lead me back down the valley.
Marker stone?
A rather wet looking Round Hill with Bleaklow in the background and there is a path down the valley somewhere around here.
The path was a little further on, looking up to the Barrow Stones.
Down the valley where the vehicle track starts/finishes with the tin shelter on the right and the weather starting to brighten up.
Turned out nice again.
The bridge at Slippery Stones.
Almost at King's Tree waiting for the shuttle bus to take me back to Fairholmes, nice eh?
Back at Fairholmes the bus heads off towards Bamford and I head off home after a cracking day.
