North Wales, Moel Siabod from Capel Curig

Moel Siabod from the Bryn Glo car park on the A5 at Capel Curig.

6 hrs.

The Ridge below Moel Siabod.
Parking at Bryn Glo (free).

One of the routes up is over that bridge and up a road to the right but I went over the bridge and followed the river for a while.
Moal Siabod from the valley floor.
Into the plantation to find the path on the far end that leads up to Moel Siabod.
Here I am looking back to Capel Curig and the eastern Carneddau.
A little further up the path.
Looks like there isn't going to be much of a view.
Llynnau Mymbyr below and Carnedd Llewellyn top center.
Into the clouds.
Summit shelter and trig.
Over th top and looking south west. A slight navigational error here as I missed descent down the ridge and appeared to go around it ah well.
Popped out here at Llyn y Foel below the ridge so all is well and a nice quiet spot for lunch.
Should have come down here.
Lovely spot.
Looking back to the ridge and the very boggy exit path.
A few photos from the old quarry below Moel Siabod.
Moel Siabod to the right.
Heading back down towards Capel Curig, Carnedd Llewellyn in the center I headed across country to find the path that I was on earlier near the plantation.
Old sheepfold.
Down on the shores of Llynnau Mymbyr looking towards Snowdon.
Ski slope, Plas y Brenin, Capel Curig.
Looking back up to Moel Siabod.
Walking back into Capel Curig often missed when passing in the car is St Julittas Church, worth a visit for a few minutes if you have the time, more info here.
And finally just like Snowdon, Siabod has it's own cafe but at the foot of the mountain not at the summit.
:)
