6 hrs.
A misty Rushup Edge late in the day.
National Trust car park, Mam Tor.
Looking along Rushup Edge from Mam Tor.
Edale valley and Kinder Scout beyond.
Mam Tor summit, you will be lucky to get this to yourself.
The ridge to Lose Hill, smoke can be seen in the background above Lose Hill caused by heather burning on the Derwent moors.
Looking back towards Mam Tor.
Hollins Cross.
Back Tor coming up.
Lots of people on and ascending Lose Hill.
Win Hill over yonder.
Looking back along the edge to Mam Tor, Rushup Edge and Kinder Scout to the right and all encircling the Edale valley.
Descending now from Lose Hill with plenty of people now on the ridge like a line of ants, I was to see some of them again in Cavedale.
Track down to Lose Hill lane.
Hope.
Pinfold in hope where stray livestock were held and released to the owner upon payment of a fine.
The way into Castleton can be by roadside path or through fields of sheep, fields for me today as the ground was frozen so no mud and no cows either. Mam Tor in the backgound.
Castleton was busy but then again, it always is.
A quick tootle around the shops playing the tourist and then up to Cavedale, here's the entrance between these two cottages.
Cavedale with the path being a sheet of ice.
Pevril Castle from Cavedale.
Care needed on this bit.
Nearly at the top, Lose Hill can be seen behind Pevril Castle.
Top of Cavedale.
Another view of Mam Tor. the wooded area to the left if it is where the car is.
The way to it was along a farm road like this.
Mist was starting to cover the tops so I took a quick trip onto Rushup edge before it got dark.
Towards Kinder.
Mam Tor, almost dark.
Jubbly.
