North Wales, Elidir Fach via Dinorwig Slate Quarry.

A wander into Dinorwig Quarry led me up to Elidir Fach and then back down through the quarry to the slate museum (parking).

7hrs

Snowdon from one of the levels in the quarry.
Start of walk near the slate museum.
Riuned barracks.
One of two of the major inclines in the quarry.
The place is vast.
Dinorwig power station.
Found some artwork in one of the ruins.
Some of the inclines aren't particularly safe.
Winding wheel at the top of an incline.
Looking down the quarry.
Building housing cutting tables, there must have been 50 of them.
Looking across the main quarry face.
Old slate bogies.
Heading up another incline.
Llanberis down below.
Dinorwig power station surge pond.
Elidir Fach summit cairn looking over to Elidir Fawr.
Returning now down  the northern side of the quarry.
Rock art?
Climbers on the slate.
The place is vast.

More info on the history of the quarry here.
