A trip up Great Shunner Fell from Hawes without seeing a single soul all day, must have been the weather.
6 1/2 hrs.
Gayle Beck in Hawes somewhat swollen.
A swollen River Ure just outside Hawes.
A pretty damp start after last night's torrential downpours across the country on the way to Hardraw.
A quick detour to visit Hardraw force, access is through the pub.
Hardaw Force fortified by the recent rainfall.
On the Pennine way now looking back to Hawes.
A paved bit, some sections were in need of attention as they were in a bad state of repair.
Almost at the top looking back.
Failed to photo the cross shelter on the summit but this is looking back up to it from the path on Shenner Fell Hags. It heads of to the right from the summit shelter.
Fossdale Gill, one of the tributaries leading to Hardraw Force.
Bit of road walking now along Buttertubs Pass.
Looking back up to Great Shunner Fell.
At the North Rakes above Sedbusk and Hawes still very damp.
Where the previous photo was taken.
Last and not very good photo of the day as it was nearly dark is Rayns Bridge which looks like an old pack horse bridge.
And then off to the pub in Hawes.
