Lake District, Crinkle Crags & Bowfell from Langdale

From New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in Langdale, Pike of Blisco, crinkle Crags and Bowfell.

71/2 hours

The Old Dungeon Ghyll.
I parked about half a mile back up the road at New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel where they open up a field for cheaper than the official car parks, four quid for the day. Plenty of car parking to be had though in Langdale.

After a bit of road plodding I swung a right onto the path that leads up to Pike of Blisco.

Looking back to Langdale, it starts to climb quite steeply from here on.

Looking across to Bowfell from near the summit of Pike of Blisco.

Passing red Tarn after descending from Pike of Bliso.

Crinkle Crags from Red Tarn.

Looking back towards Oike of Blisco, it was a glorious day.

The mighty Scafells from Crinkle Crags.

Looking back down towards Langdale.

A Crinkle. At the bad step there was a queue so I didn't bother and went round.

 Pike of Blisco.

Looking across to the next stop, Bowfell.

A little piece of the Great Slab.

Nearly there.

Some views from Bowfell summit....

Lovely jubbly.

From Bowfell summit I headed for Ore Gap and took the path down to Angle Tarn.

Angle Tarn with the Langdale pikes in the distance which would be left for another day as my legs were getting a little tired.

Looking back from Angle Tarn.

The landale Pikes and the path back to the car from Rossett Pike.

Looking back up Rossett Gill.

And again from the farm track near the Old Dungeeon Ghyll. Bowfell on the left.

From here it was back to the car ending a glorious day on the Fells.
