Yorkshire Dales, Buckden Pike & Moss Top from Buckden.

A brief pause in the downpours of the winter allowed for a trip into the Dales and an ascent of Buckden Pike and then over to Moss top before descending back into Buckden.

We were to head up the scar towards the ruins of Buckden Lead Mine.

North Wales, Arenig Fawr.

Arenig Fawr today from a minor road turning left off the A4212 after passing Llyn Celyn from Bala.

There are a few spaces to park on this minor road. There is an area of waste ground about a mile further back along the road also.
About a mile up the track Llyn Arenig Fawr comes into view. the route up is on the ridge to the left.

Been long fancying this long slow climb up onto the Glyders from Capel Curig. It's a nice quiet route until you meet the crowds on Glyder Fach & Fawr.

Lake district, Skiddaw, Ullock Pike and Dodd from Dodd Wood.

The rain finally stopped at Keswick after a very wet journey up the M6 and thoughts of abandoning any walking today. So I stopped at a free parking area at Dodd wood and set off for Skiddaw.

Berwyn, Cadair Bronwen,Cadair Berwyn and Moel Sych from Llandrillo.

First foray into the Berwyns which proved eventful in challenging conditions.

The Berwyn range is an isolated and sparsely populated area of moorland located in the north-east of Wales, roughly bounded by Llangollen in the north-east, Corwen in the north-west, Bala in the south-west, and Oswestry in the south-east. Wikipedia

A trip into the northern Carneddau from Abergwyngregyn in search of solitude and wild horses, I found both.

From the car park at Brothers Water I headed up through Hartsop for a wander amongst the fells surrounding Hayeswater.

North York Moors Coast, Sandsend to Whitby.

Not strictly in the North Yorkshire Moors but it's close enough for me. Having spent the night at Cowbar near Staithes I drove to Sandsend to park up (free) and headed off down the beach to spend a good few hours in Whitby.

Yorkshire Dales, Dod Fell and Drumaldrace from Hawes.

Second day in the Dales and a lot of overnight rain saw lots of flash flooding especially around Hawes.
The weather improved during our trip up Dodd Fell and Drumaldrace south of Hawes.

Yorkshire Dales, Nine Standards Rigg and Tan Hill Inn from Keld.

Camping at Keld this weekend at Rukin's site and once set up I set off for Nine Standards Rigg with the intention of cutting across country from there to the Tan hill Inn and back to Keld on the Pennine Way.

Peak District, Mam Tor & The great Ridge, Castelton, Cavedale, Mam Tor.

Parked in the NT car park just below Mam Tor summit we aimed to walk the ridge and then down to Hope from Lose Hill continuing onto Castleton, up through Cavedale back down to Winnats Pass, over that then up Mam Tor's SE Ridge.

Lake District, Scafell Pike, Great End and Bowfell from Great Langdale.

The intention was to just set off and see where I finished up, always a good plan. After parking up at the NT car park in Great Langdale I headed off along the road towards Mickleden and the heat was already beginning to pick up at 9am.

Lake District, Jack's Rake, High Raise & Sergeant Man

Had a go at Jack's Rake today in blistering heat, after setting up camp it was off to the NT Trust car park at Great Langdale. Not an Ideal time to be setting off at 1pm nearing the hottest part of the day but that couldn't be helped.

A trip down to Minfford to climb Cadair Idris and Mynydd Moel on which turned out to be another scorching hot day.

North Wales, Snowdon via Rhyd Ddu path and a visit to Yr Aran.

A fantastic but hot day for a trip up Snowdon via the Rhyd Dddu path, one of the quieter routes up the mountain. Returning down the South Ridge for a quick visit to the much less visited summit of Yr Aran.
